Sport coat fit

This sport coat is obviously pretty big on me, but would it require too much tailoring to make it worth keeping?

Is it the Madison cut? If so it’s meant to be a pretty full cut. This is definitely on the big side if you want a more streamlined fit, but if you want a more traditional fit I think this is pretty solid.

This is the Regent, actually, which is surprising because the previous Regent jackets I've got were on the trim side. I like a full cut but wasn't sure if this was too much.

Oh is this a recent one? I think they redid their fits and was wondering if there were any changes. It probably wouldn’t hurt to try a size down if it’s meant to be the old regent.

Well, the good news it seems fine in the shoulders, chest, arms, length, etc. The bad news is that it seems to be the wrong shape for you around the midsection. Maybe tailoring the waist in can do the job but I am a little concerned that the shape being what it is requires you to size down instead. The way the quarters look from the button down is just off to my eye, as it is.
