You can test the internal connections by probing with a multimeter in diode test mode: put the positive(red) probe on GND go through other pins with the negative(black) one. It should read a diode (~0.5-0.7V) on all pins, otherwise it would indicate a broken internal connection.

Having a similar issue with the same connection point/connection in the base. Using a VIRPIL VFX Grip when I install it in my WarBRD base with the extensions it works fine, when I move it over to the VPRhino I get intermittent disconnects (debug tool worked great for diagnostic). Same issue with a VPC Constellation ALPHA with and without extensions. Is it possible there is a supply issue with the 5pin female in the VPRhino base? Is the female connector in the VPRhino a DYI able repair? I 'adjusted' the pin spacing on the 5pin male for better connection pressure, for a temp fix, don't know how long that will last. @walmis
