Ryot has a huge update!
The version on store is v2.24.2 but there is a huge update, the latest is 3.4.0
will it be updated any time soon?
There seems to be some extra steps needed for migration of the database.

Yeah, very difficult
Can we do the same we did for Mealie? Leave the old version of Ryot as it is, migration of it is a pain, why not have the latest separately?
Latest is 4.3 π
Version 5 π

Yes, please, the migration seems to be complicated, but having the latest separately, would work nicely.
Can some cool nerd do this and add or update the latest version please!!!!

Wow that's a big jump of version here, are they using semver as a marketing tool or are there really breaking changes between those versions?
That is a bit weird, just last year they were on version 5.0, and now 8.0.
Maybe we could upgrade all the way to v8 without any issue
If it's only marketing
https://github.com/IgnisDa/ryot/releases they also have a lot of v6 and v7 releases
It seems there are real manual steps to execute https://docs.ryot.io/migration.html?h=
We cannot realistically just push an update and expect users to run these kind of commands
It would break all installs after update
What we can do is release a new app Ryot v8 and deprecate this one
for major upgrades with manual migration steps this seems to be the only viable option for tipi imo
Yesss! That would be great!
