Braided belt
This might be stupid.. I got this new braided leather belt, but now I’m wondering if it’s too wide. It’s 3.5 cm. The belt I’ve been wearing is 3 cm wide. I wear vintage watches which are small and now the watch strap seems very small compared to the belt.
I hope it’s just because it’s new.
Would this belt be fine to wear with tailored clothing or is it too wide for that?
Also, the belt has a yellow brass buckle. Does it clash with the steel watchcase and the red brass hardware on the jeans? I think this is also stupid, but I tend to be anxious about new purchases… so I ask.

You're overthinking this.
Looks fine.
Don't need to match your metals.
I wouldn't wear a braided belt with most tailored clothing. A bit too casual, but it can work if you're trying to dress for example Linen trousers and an OCBD down a bit in the summer.
That’s what I thought. Thanks for the reassurance!
Yes, I was thinking of more casual tailoring, like cotton/linen. Or maybe flannel trousers in the winter?
