what colour dye to darken blue trousers?
I'm not great with describing colours, but they're a kind of dark blue. I essentially want to dye them darker.
Should I use a black dye or the dark blue I want it to be? I haven't done it before.

This blog used a mix of black and blue dye to achieve what you're wanting. I think just using a small amount of black / leaving them in for a shorter time than the packet says would also do what you're wanting
if you can get a dye that is the blue you want I dont quite know why you would use black
