Trousers waist alteration
I’m looking at a suit on ebay which I like very much. The jacket’s dimensions are fine, however, the trousers have a waist ~2.5” wider than necessary. Is it possible to have it taken in without them looking bad? (My quick research says yes, but would like to make sure)
Also, ideally I’d like the rise to be 2cm higher, not sure if there’s anything to do about this?

I think the rise is a no, but 1.25 in per side and seat taken in is relatively ez
Thank you. Took a second look at the trouser measurements, and the thighs also seem quite wide. 34cm at 0 inseam, while the hem is 20cm. I think this would result in a heavily tapered look. My guess is that a 30cm thigh would be ideal, I guess that’s also a possible alteration, or could it move the pockets too much? What’s your take on this?
Oh yea i got it aggressively tapered the whole legs before
It possible
It the seat and waist alterations that move the pockets
I got 2 inch in waist downsized before and pockets shift not noticeable
Just ask ur trust tailor the cost first tho, i didnt and it was more economical to sell my trousers
Fyi the thigh section is often 2inch from crotch seam down then measure perpendicularly across the leg
That what many denim store use, but I figured there are people measure directly from crotch seam across
Thanks for the tips! This seller explicitly said that the thigh was measured at the crotch
Yeah it's often called thigh but they're actually measuring the seat.
