Paraboot Michaels Sizing
Just recently got the Michaels and there’s notable heel slip. When I’m walking with them, my heel is lifting off the insole. I’m an EU 41.5 in MM Gats, and I did a full size down for these Paraboots for 40.5. I’m concerned about there being too much space in the shoe, which is causing my foot to slide around slightly. I don’t know whether breaking it in will solve this or make it even worse. I’m contemplating going a half size down to 40 so it fits snugger and having it stretch when I’m breaking it in. However, sizing down 1.5 seems kinda excessive to me. Should I thug it out and break it in first, or should I just return it now and get a pair in 40s?

How long have you been wearing them for? It took around a week for mine to stop heel slipping.
Alternatively you can buy heel inserts
A couple hours lol
Do you remember how bad the heel slip was for you?
Mine wasn’t as bad as yours but I’d wear them for a week before saying they’re too big. Also could wear bigger socks
But yea you gotta soften the sole to your foot and gait first but it does look pretty big
For example here is my foot all the way in the front
Ah ok, I’ll try them out for a week first then. I’m just concerned that the amount of heel slip I’m getting is beyond the scope of just needing to get them broken in to fix
These are looser than I would prefer
You think I should half size down?
It's been several years since I got my Michaels but I don't remember them being this loose. I'm usually a 10.5-11 and my Michaels are a 44
You might be ok with some thicker socks though ?
Hmm don’t have any thick socks rn to try it with
Going 1.5 sizes down would be crazy, but it might be better for the break in
How snug is the shoe around the widest part of your foot? If there's plenty of space you can try sizing down but if it's pretty close already I'd suggest sticking with these. My first pair was a 42 and I constantly thought they were a little too loose. Sold them and got a 41.5 and it didn't take long before I realized they were definitely too small. Now I have 42s again and they're so much better. Wish I stuck with my first pair but at least now I know for sure I have the right size.
It fits pretty perfect around the widest part of my foot. It’s touching the walls of the shoe, but it’s not crushing them, and it’s not loose either.
Here’s some pics with better angles of the amount of space in the heel when I’m purposely jamming my toes as far as I can against the toe box
Lol i just got my Michael tts too
It slip cause the vamp not holding
Or in my case i am a c width
So far i tried heel grip
And it useless
So dont
At the moment i have a thick dr scholl insert sole
Plus thick socks
I still have slip
I guess waiting for it to soften up
I tried the same thing and this is what it looks like. The second photo is when I'm just standing normally.
Huh that’s like the same amount of space as me
Dang that must be so annoying. I feel like the raised part of the insole at the heel, not having anything to grip or lock the heel in place as well as just how wide the shoe is causing people’s heel to slip
I did try to research on what to get, but since i had a heel grip laying around, i tried that first
In the end i found that the sole is new. Not broken in causing heel slip
The second is when we walk our feet slide up, and michael dont have lot of lace to tight the feet down, it noticable
I gonna try a tongue pad soon and will see how it goes. I think for tts it good for me width wise, but my c width foot and the sole being new make it really annoying
Will report back
My Michael’s boots slip on the right foot. The gap is not that big but still slips. I tried using tongue pads but so far it had not helped.
Urg you are convincing me to return the pad
