New uploads not being face tagged
I've successfully uploaded 300,000+ assets, and I've gone through and associated about 100 names to faces. But any new photo uploaded is not being tagged. I'm getting notifed of the upload and that it is creating a new person. My threshold is set to 0.6, and these are nearly identical pictures. Interestingly, it will start a new batch of faces for a person, which resets once I assign a name. In other words, if I take pictures today and tomorrow, none of the faces will have names. I can name one of mine, and then the rest from today and tomorrow will have my name. But the next picture I take will not - it effectively starts over (or something). So, right now, I'm just going through every few days, assigning names to my family members, and merging those with the 1000s of photos I already have of them.
Here are some errors I'm getting that might be helpful.
(Screenshots attached)
1. Unsupported file type (3gp) which is not true - my phone takes jpegs, and the photo comes in as a jpeg
2. Some postgres errors - not sure if they are related.
3. Some server errors
4. Some microservices errors
Further troubleshooting advice is appreciated.

I just took a screenshot of a picture I already had uploaded and tagged. It found the face but did not assign the name.

It sounds like you’d benefit from increasing the max recognition distance from 0.6 to maybe 0.7.
Is this something we expected when the face cluster grows a lot ?
I'll increase it and see if that helps.
This did not work. I increased to 0.7 and uploaded a screenshot of a tagged picture - it found the face but didn't assign the name.
let us put in some more log in the next release to help with identifying the cause for this issue
This happened to me too over the weekend. I have one instance running on linux with 89,000 pictures and one instance running on Windows with the exact same pictures and database (exported from the linux instance) - both on version 1.84.0. I took 20 new pictures and put them in the library on each, and rescanned. On the linux instance not one single face got matched to an existing face. On the Windows instance every face got matched to a face I had already labeled.
Thanks. If you find a solution - or track down the problem, please let me know. This is the main thing holding me back from getting rid of Google Photos once and for all...
@volcs0 Can you change the
LOG_LEVEL=verbose
then restart the stack and try upload a picture with an established face?
thank you for the help - hopefully there is something interesting in there
Can you take a screenshot of the facial recognition settings in the admin page?
I think those are default

These are not the default. Let me get you the default in a bit
You can also clicked on reset to default at the bottom left corner

here is the default
ok thanks. will try this
