What would go with this shirt?
Hi all,
I've been using this black shirt with white checks to office along with black jeans a lot. I don't have many "semi-casual/semi-formal" clothing, so I was wondering if I could do something around this.
I typically have a pair of black jeans and blue jeans.
These are the jeans I have for reference
Would any jacket go well over the shirt? Can anything be done around it?

That's a fairly casual button-front shirt, it's near the informal end of the spectrum, for a button-front and I assume collared shirt. Jeans work with it well. If you want a jacket over it you'd want one that is either itself fairly informal (all manner of 'shirt jackets' such as chore coats, field jackets, etc) or a slightly more formal jacket worn casually (soft shouldered tweed sport coat, maybe.)
this is the shirt in question, my pic was bad but this is the item link
yes it is collared as well

Casual jacket color comes down almost entirely to preference. Safe colors tend to be darker blues, grays, browns. But such jackets come in all colors of the rainbow and as long as it's fairly un-saturated it's pretty hard to go wrong IMO (okay, someone will immediately prove me wrong with a dust-pink jacket that takes effort to wear well.)
If you don't like darker blues, grays, and browns, then various earths and olives are generally fine too.
I actually do like grays, I do have this overshirt I use on a white tshirt, but maybe the collars would conflict?
Will see what else I can do/get based on this colors, thanks
