Maybe you're just helping out the bride for a traditional shinto wedding, or cosplaying or something, but... dare I ask why?
From the looks of it you can just buy supports like this. googling "綿帽子サポート" (wataboushi support) gave a few from cute dainty flower things for transparent and delicate wataboshi, to alarming looking contraptions I have to imagine are for the very heavy-looking kimono fabric ones.
It's for my university project, I'm photographing different wedding traditions in studio and I need to make one! Thank you for responding!
I'm a bit confused about the one on the right becuase if you loook at this picture the "support" doesn't really look like it? Looks more like a circular shape around the top of the forehead and with wires faning out like a cobweb

Ah, this is confusing. in the video for this it just seems like it has a well supported seam, but nothing actually holding it UP. Maybe some interfacing, or the embroidery helps...? But I'm not seeing a whole lot
