Immutable desktop a little too immutable...

rpm-ostree reset, rpm-ostree rebase, rpm-ostree uninstall deployments ALL fail to actually checkout and provide a new deployment on boot. they just vanish from staging and everything was as it was before the command was run - no boot entry added to grub, etc

the top one is being staged with 225 packages to be removed. you should restart before you continue

yes, that's the outcome of running rpm-ostree reset. then i reboot and i'm back on the (previously) booted deployment, ie. the reset doesn't work beginning to think my only option is a reinstall, no ostree operation seems to actually take effect despite no errors anywhere

are you selecting the post-reset deployment on launch?

As I mentioned, it doesn't exist. There is no new entry in GRUB to select. I elected to reinstall. Problem fixed.

Weird. At least it was resolved that way

Yeah I've used ostree distributions a decent amount and never seen anything like this. Just the total lack of errors or any measurable change from any ostree operation had me stumped.
