Automatic image/banner gen.

Hey, I am making a basic app to expand my knowledge, and I wanted to ask a question here in case someone knew. When you generate a new project in uploadthing it creates a card with an auto generated banner. I saw something similar to this in Jira where a thumbnail for a project is auto generated by sketch.com. Would this be considered a very high level feature for a newer dev? Thanks.
