I think it looks fine but just curious what you think about this shirt + sweater combo

I think the quarter zip/button over collared shirt isn't viewed super favorably. It's a little outdated...
Usually would prefer a more casual shirt too vs what looks to be a dress shirt?

To the general public you'll probably look presentatble and 'fine'
It's not really a 'fashionable' look though
i don’t think that’s necessarily true, i think it qualifies pretty well into “smart casual” and makes up most of the category

I'm with @rej, the problem isn't whether these two pieces to together it's that this sort of sweater over a dress shirt is just not going to look fashionable

I dunno man, you could wear a great OCBD with a lovely collar roll and the quarter button sweater would still make it an unfashionable outfit

I wanna be very clear. The look is respectable. It's appropriate. But there's no fashion in it. Which is fine, but we are a fashion discord

And there are a ton of light jackets if you want something easy to take off
