Temporary Cloudflare-hosted sites slowness
Hey guys, strange problem here... we have a Cloudflare-hosted website on Pro plan and some customers tell us, that sometimes our websites behave really slow, meaning that assets are loading up to 1min (e.g. for 50kb). For most people, our development team and our 24/7 monitoring system the website behaves normal all-day...
Luckily we have an employee who experiences the same problems. For him, every Cloudflare-hosted website is temporarily slow from time to time (let's say twice a week). E.g. when he opens discord.com, it's as slow as our own website. Then the next day, the site behaves normal. Normal non-Cloudflare-hosted websites behave fast without any problems. He discovers the problem not only from his PC, but also from his smartphone (same home LAN/WLAN) and on the smartphone even when he's not connected to local WLAN, but to his mobile operator.
The "cdn-cgi/trace" response shows that the chosen datacenter (FRA) is correct and the nearest one. Cloudflare speed test is aweful, normal speedtests are good. First we thought that a specific Cloudflare datacenter instance could be broken, but more and more we think of a network-related problem. The only strange thing is then that the connection is slow for both local LAN connections (DSL) and also connections over the mobile operator 🤷♂️
Is there anything we could do to further debug and narrow down the problem? Thanks a lot in advance 🙏
