Hi there! I'm trying to build a Snap75 and I'm on step 12 at the moment. Both MCUs are working fine. I'm in VIA using the test matrix as recommended Testing works just fine for the first few keys, but at random the board crashes and the IC on that side heats up. There is no consistency in which key causes the problem - it seems entirely random.

Thanks for the response - I'll do that tomorrow when I've got the time to sit down with the board again Thanks so much for the advice. The solder joints were all fine but I cleaned the PCB with 99% IPA to remove any flux/other contaminants. It turned out that one of the IC chips was broken - I switched it out and the board is now fully functional! 😄

That's good to know - I'll keep it in mind This is my first time doing anything "engineering" related in over a decade (I'd not even touched a soldering iron since I was 13!) so I'm pretty proud I got it working. I had a friend helping me with the board and it seems the TRRS cable unplugged and shorted one half, blowing one IC chip. I actually read some of your responses to other people in the Discord while troubleshooting - they helped me realise I needed to isolate my fingers from the tweezers I was using too (I was thinking keys were shorted when they weren't), and that 90% IPA would be more effective at cleaning off the remaining flux
