Ok so I posted these pics before
They aren’t great pics tbh
These were the 501
I think those aren’t bad
they’re too long that’s all
other than that they look good
The front kinda bunched up and made it look like my junk was showing lol
You can see it in the pic
I can’t tbh but I believe you
Yeah those are a 29
Lenght
They don’t sell much shorter afaik
u can get them hemmed for like $10
Yeah I can hem them too
Yeah either a hem or a hefty cuff. That’s what I do@with mine
They look like they fit you well i don’t see anything wrong with the groin fit
i think you should try levi 550s and levi 505s
How are they different
The wide leg on the 501’s will look better once hemmed or cuffed
Here’s 508s
That I own
A wash will also make them more flattering
But those are taper
Jeans always fit better after they've been washed and worn a bit, give them a hem and I think they might be good
levi 550s will have more room in the thigh and groin area as will the 505s to a lesser extent
but I really think the 501s look okay
I don’t think I need more room
What are the specific issues you’re running into? I’m struggling to understand what you want tbh
Just checking the fit tbh
I think they bunched up in the front
These may have been the 505
I don’t see it and sinbad said the same thing but it’s all about getting something you feel comfortable in
No those are also 501
What about the ones I showed that I own, how do those fit compared to these
Yeah doesn’t fit
I mean I could squeeze in
Levis has notoriously bad qc with sizing it can very quite a bit
try giving 'em a big old cuff when you try on and also wear shoes
lol
but like @Digs said Levi's sizing is a crapshoot. I used to have three pairs of the same new 501s in the same size that fit differently
Wow
So what about the ones I showed
It's why usually you'll see people saying buy vintage. Often cheaper, better quality and you can just ask for measurements on the specific pair.
The 508
Taper
Is that the most recent pic you posted?
No the one with the green sweater
I don't love the cut on those
Why not
Too tapered?
This is not the best example but I’m a 30-32 and these are a 34 (501s). They WILL look a lot better if you can find a pair that fits on the waist (the qc is bad). Once you wash them though they look 1000 times better. In stores before you wash them they’ll look bad.
I think the taper gives them a bit of a weird shape
Yeah
Like @imbadatusernames said they will always look better over time too because the denim will settle.
Ahh
But like others have pointed out you'll need a hem on them so it's hard to get a good look at the fit when they're stacked over your feet and you don't have shoes on
even if it's just in a change room, give them enough of a cuff to have them break where you want and wear shoes
So 501 vs 505 is just a little more room on the 505?
And the 550 is?
im not a levi's expert by any means but my understanding is 505 has more room in thigh/seat than 501, and 550 is even more relaxed. i think 550 may taper but the leg is quite a fair bit wider so it's not a harsh taper
It tried on 505s because I have big thighs for my size and I was not a fan of them. You really get spoiled by the button fly
you can get jeans chainstitch hemmed in nyc for $20 but it's best to find an inseam that fits you if you can obviously
you can also cuff your jeans
I don't think you need to chainstitch levis honestly.
Are the Levi’s outlet jeans ok
Are they lower quality
Left is 550, right is 501
levi's outlet just refers to their own stores i believe?
Maybe
I like the 501 better there
Any rec for colors
so no and they actually frequently have nicer options at their brand store
levi's premium is supposedly a lil nicer for example
There are different Levi's lines
LVC is the nicest I think. There's also Levis' Made & Crafted.
Levi's Premium is nice. Levi's Signature is their budget line
and then just straight up levi's
oh wait you're right, they do have outlet stores
They're just jeans tbh. Diminishing returns kicks in almost immediately unless you really gotta have something like a unique fabric or selvedge (you do not tho)
i have no idea what they sell but it's not like j crew or gap factory, i'd think they sell regular levi's there. could be a good place to get a deal
Ya focus on the fit and if you like the way they look more than what's on the tag
They usually have buy one get one half off
But they list for like $70
for what it's worth both those levi's i pictured are vintage pairs i got used off ebay/poshmark for less than $70 total/combined
Worst qc I’ve seen. I tried on so many different pairs of 501s just to find a pair that me and they were all the same size
lol
Yeah just try them all on and if your size doesn’t fit just try a different pair or size up. Levi’s sucks with that kind of stuff
I agree with vintage but make sure to check the return policy when ordering on eBay/Poshmark
Yeah maybe I will
Just need to get something today too
checkout a thrift, resell or vintage shop too but keep in mind anything you buy is final sale generally
Yeah makes sense
What colors
To look for
that's a question for you my guy
whatever you want
You look great in those 501s
How can I properly wash my jeans
I got some 501s
The button front is weird
buttons are better than zip fly
are they raw or are they faded/washed?
spin cycle can give your jeans some weird creases
Idk they are 501
Does the tag on the back say 501 or 501xx?
Shit didn’t get the wrong ones
no
I’ll check
Just 501 @ll.beansandrice🫘
Cold water gentle cycle and then hang dry is what Levi’s says
that's the general rule for most clothes that you can machine wash
Really?
If you want them to last long yah
For jeans to i would recommend not spin cycling them cause it will put in ugly crease fades
Do this
Gotcha
Will they dry overnight? @ll.beansandrice🫘
Maybe. Idk depends on your weather and stuff
I hope so
Is there a proper way to cuff
Jeans
I need to cuff them they are too long
not really no.
try to keep them under 2" i guess but some peopel also love big ass cuffs
Cuff outwards?
Yes do not fold them inwards.
Ok
