iOS app synced, but media already uploaded via CLI

I have close to 8,000 media in my iCloud. I downloaded them via iCloudPD and uploaded them via the Immich CLI, because the synchronization via the iOS app takes too long for the number of photos and videos. Now that I've uploaded everything and connected my iPhone to my server, the app goes through all my media and tries to sync it, even though it's already on the server. The number of total media also goes down when it detects that the file is already on the server. Do I need to run the sync once, or are there other ways to get the app to recognize that all the existing media is already on the server.

On Android i got around this my moving my camera roll to a different folder ("Camera-backup") so that a new Photo would land in 'Camera' again, which I then selected in the App (and because this folder was empty there was nothing to backup) Might just work for me, but still wanted to share But I agree that an option like 'Dont backup existing files' like Nextcloud does would be a nice feature in the App

Unfortunately, as far as I know, this is not possible on iOS because there is only the Recent album where a new photo would land and you can't move media from it, only copy it. But thanks for your suggestion!

That’s currently the only way for the app to recognize that files have already been uploaded It’s on the roadmap to have the app do the checking client side but it’s not available yet
