Is this a dumb idea?
Hi all! I am not a programming student anymore but wanted to float an idea I had of a tool to build that would have helped me, especially when I started taking more online courses and was juggling school and work π
I'm thinking about building a bot that could be scheduled to attend online class on your behalf and send a recording, transcript and summary when the class is over. You could configure it to be "obvious" that it is a bot (e.g. sending a message in chat on arrival), or go more "under the radar" (e.g. setting a looping video of you at your desk).
Is this interesting or valuable? Would love to hear your thoughts.
I am seriously considering building this... if you're interested fill out my survey and I'll add you to the beta list! https://arq5eym9u68.typeform.com/to/IXP6iYPT

Thinking of the human species as a whole, I think this is a bad idea
Poor instructors teaching bots π
Though a funny project on its own
as long as you don't actually use it
It's a dumb idea yeah because the meetings are either automatically recorded and transcripted, or you're not allowed to record them to begin with
and the looping video of you at your desk is like pants-on-head stupid
everyone told stan lee his idea was stupid π then came ...
jokes aside I don't think It's a bad idea, but It is impractical because there is little to no need for the actual invention. Like the others said, recordings are almost always posted, the ones that aren't are typically for copyright and legal reasons. In addition the looping thing is... π€·ββοΈ

Sorry. It wont happen again.
Only useful thing I see is the summary, but that will be very difficult. Would certainly require a great machine learning model
Youβre probably better off making a program to get around respondus lockdown browser and making a bunch of guap, then going to prison when they catch you
