Overcoat sizing/recommendations
tried this in a store to get a general idea of how a coat like it would fit on me. this was the only one that went even close to my knee, all the other ones were mid-thigh..
I'm looking to buy one second hand but would be happy for any pointers/recommendations. For context: I live in Germany, I want to buy a coat second-hand for less than 100€ and I'd be wearing it over tailored jackets paired with dress pants, chinos and cords. I think I want a coat that goes down to my knees, I'm not a fan of the "car coat" look, but that makes it difficult.

found this, look any good?
@raisin 60€
That's not too bad of a price
If you're patient I think you could find something nicer in your budget, but it's not a bad option
good to know, thanks :)
turns out it was a ladies coat and as such, much too small for me lol
but I found this instead for 45€
If I am being choosy (and I generally am), I wouldn't do a poly blend. Pure wool of some sort - whether standard sheep wool, specific sheep wool (merino, shetland, harris tweed, what have you), or wool from other animals (cashmere, alpaca, camel, etc.)
Your photos seem okay as far as fit goes. I assume you are holding your arms funny. Remember though that if you plan to wear it over jackets, it's best to try it on over a jacket, yeah? Or at least a thick sweater.
will definitely try that whenever I've got a budget for it ^^
but rn poly blend is the best I can afford
If you're buying secondhand I promise there's affordable pure wool stuff
I have a wool crombie overcoat that was $60 including shipping etc
I'll keep my eyes open but so far it's been pretty barren here
I guess Germans don't like long wool overcoats
Well...
those were leather overcoats! 😅
I just checked the label in the 45€ coat and it turns out it's pure wool lol. Guess I misidentified it and it's an older/higher quality coat from the same brand
