need to retake ipc144

I know i completely failed my mid term, I had a hard time understanding in class and was playing catch up, I hired a tutor but I was still to far behind and I just did my mid term and I know i did not do well, I am understanding slowly but not fast enough to catch up in class so I wanna drop out and retake it cause I feel like if i retake it I can do better especially since I have a tutor to guide me. This is what my advisor said “IPC144 is unfortunately a prerequisite to many of your Semester 2 classes but next term you can take IPC144, two general education classes and DBS211 (if you successfully pass OPS102 this fall). If not, you can also take 3 gen eds to maintain your full-time status (minimum 4 classes). CPP courses luckily run every semester”. Does she mean that I take IPC and DBS and two gen ed courses for the 2nd semester. Apologies in advance im just kinda confused

Ya unless you fail OPS102 then take that and IPC with 2 gen eds. Just have 4 courses taken if you wanna stay full time is what she's saying

^ hes really right. Tho you can pass the finals tend to be worse imo. A lot of people i knew who did okay on mids for ipc failed the final.

On the contrary, I've seen people fail the midterm and pass the class with solid grades I keep seeing people drop and retake just because they failed the midterm, it's not really a death sentence unless you're WELL below 50% on it

less often, usually the reason people flunk the midterm in IPC is a bit of jitters, not getting their head on straight about how hard the class is, and unfamiliarity with the format after you write the IPC midterm you pretty much know the format for every IPC and OOP exam you'll get for the next couple years so it's easier to study and prep for

you shouldn't drop a course until immediately before the deadline to drop a course and still get a DNC

Thank you guys for the responses. Thing is I’m doing good in other classes but I’ve been having a really hard time understanding anything in ipc and learning basic code, a lot of it is my fault cause I don’t think I studied enough, I would complete the assignments and thats it, but even then I always needed help with every workshop after week 1. And I don’t like my teacher at all cause she just goes through the topics really fast and doesn’t elaborate and isn’t helpful. She’s rude and condescending and I honestly get scared to ask her for help. so I have to drop it and take it next semester but till then, I’m gonna start from basics and study everyday so I can prepare for it next semester and I see my tutor twice a week too. But idk hopefully I’ll be able to understand and pass next time

Monica Sehrawat, if anybody with no programming experience is thinking about taking her please don’t, she’s a nightmare

I'm in the same situation if my marks come back as below 50. Avoid Rania Arbash as well unless you have prior experience @Uncle Bobby B you said you hired someone, where did you find one and do you think it's worth it?
