Restore on new device
Is it possible to restore my images with the correct dates intact when I switch phones or roms?

From what I know immich has the option to download photos to the phone so I think the answer to your question is yes, you will be able to download photos from the server where your photos are hosted to your device
will the dates be retained?
We don't have any explicit support for "restore photos onto a phone", you can download individual assets however
if I zip up my photos directory on my phone then unzip it onto my new rom, will Immich recognize that it's the same photo as the dates should be the same? Or will it back it up again like a new and different photo
Same hash means same file, but the app will determine that by uploading
