V-neck cardigan vs. crewneck cardigan formality?
I’ve always worn v neck cardigans but have seen some crewneck around (not sure if that’s what they’re called — saw them referred to as “baseball cardigans” too). Other variables being equal, is the crewneck a more casual style? Most brands seem to style them over tshirts or buttoned all the way up (not a look I’m into), but wondering how flexible they can be, like over a tucked OCBD, chinos, and derby fit. If anyone has any inspo I could use it!

Crewneck is marginally more casual
Anything v neck is more formal, fitting for office, crew gonna be csual,
But then texture counted as well, fine merino more formal, more texture more casual
Can v neck cardigans be dressed down? I want to get some versatile knitwear like sweaters and a cardigan that I can layer over a t-shirt or button down for a relaxed vibe
Oh i mean pair a dress shirt or button down u get a dress up look, pair with a t shirt you have it dress down
Of course
I personally don't think that there will be a situation where one of those is the right formality and the other one isn't
