Boots with wide toe-boxes
Looking to to pick up a couple of pairs of boots (brown + black), but can't seem to find any that have wide toe boxes. Budget is around 200-400$ per pair, and would like them to be flexible (casual -> business casual range).
Some styles I like are chelseas and chuckas. Prefer on the simple side, nothing with wingtips/other flourishes, the cleaner the better. Maybe antithetically, I don't love box toe designs, and would prefer something rounded if at all possible (willing to let this one goe if it's too hard of an ask.
I'd also prefer something a little sleeker, things like docs tend to be a bit too chunky for my liking, but willing to try new things in this regard as well.
Price range is also flexible, but would prefer it to trend low. Not super interested in anything designer/highest quality. As long as they're pretty and they'll last I'm happy!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i would ask for examples of what you consider semiformal outifts/semiformal footwear, as to my mind, that's a tough one to marry. Maybe, like, an outdoor cocktail event in fall? Chukkas with a suit are normal to my eye, but not like a super shiny S160s wool or anything. I often do chelseas/chukkas with sportcoat outfits. But i'm not sure i'd do the same wit ha prototypical derby boot. In any case, I'd say to browse Skolyx and Meermin's website as a starter. I find Meermin's hok last to be very generous
Sorry! Mostly meant business casual/more dressed up than really anything close to formal, I'll adjust the op! Thanks for the recs, I'll definitely check them out
Oh great OK then i would wholeheartedly recommend anything in Grant Stone's range. I find all their lasts to be on the roomy side (relatively), the Floyd last especially. I often wear the Brass boot into the office!
sounds great! thanks again for the suggestions, I'll definitely check them out
I got into Goodyear-welted footyear last year and have since purchased way too much. If I was to start over again, I would bite the bullet and go with Alden Indy boots or Tricker's Stows (both with commando soles), but that's personal—neither are sleek, and the latter have broguing. I have Meermin's Chelsea boots with city rubber soles on the Hiro last, and they are very sleek, but not roomy in the toe box (these two things are somewhat at odds). I would second the recommendation to look at the Hok or similarly wider lasts from Meermin. Grant Stone is amazing—though I have only purchased a pair of loafers from them, which I had to return as they were too large in the heel. One thing to note is that the Brass & Ottawa boots have moc toes, like the Alden Indy, which might be what you mean by box toes.
