pros/cons of different resale stores

Hey guys, got some stuff I'm looking to offload that I don't feel like selling online. What are the pros/cons of the various big resale stores? I have access to Crossroads, Buffalo Exchange, Wasteland and 2nd Street but I've only ever sold at Crossroads. What's the best/worst stuff to try to sell at each? Thanks!

Crossroads and Buffalo are the same tier but I noticed that crossroads is cheaper and more women focused. Men isn’t that great at crossroads imo Buffalo is into trends so they are very seasonal and literally do not give a shit about brand name which is cool. They’re trained to look at the quality of a garment without looking at label (as long as there is a clean label there). When selling make sure to iron/steam and to take out loose threads and iron the label to a crisp because that’s their indicators of if it would sell. Seasonality is a big thing too. They won’t take that many shorts in the winter or coats in the summer etc. they also don’t know fuck all about tailoring or dressy shoes. You can see a lot of good heritage and even designer brands on sale for not that much because it attracts a younger audience that not necessarily cares about brand prestige but style and vintage-ness. Mondays and Tuesdays they will often have sale garments which are half off the price. Behind the counter Buffalo has designer stuff that isn’t priced that high. I got a mint condition Margiela dress shirt for $70 but they also don’t verify fakes. Crossroads attracts a similar audience but I’m less familiar with them Buffalo selling is currently 50% store credit or 25% cash. I take the credit every time. You can keep it on a gift card that doesn’t really expire. When selling you have to wait in line and be present. Wastelands for those CA folks is absolutely ludicrously overpriced but will sometimes have weird underpriced items. I bought a Jil sander coat there for $150. They have very knowledgeable staff and can price an item pretty well. If you have good condition luxury or designer goods, I would sell to them as they price pretty high. It used to be 30% but now it’s 25% back on a check. They don’t really take non-designer items unless it’s vintage or really interesting. They also verify authenticity with a 3rd party source. Honestly if you can’t sell something online and need quick cash I’d go to wasteland

If you have access to wasteland fuck 2nd street basically imo. Good dumping grounds if it won’t sell online Wasteland sells tons of fakes tho They will just underprice them

2nd street is also really good for designer but they price cheaper which is nice for buying but bad for selling. They also verify authenticity. They have an online store so stock shifts around sometimes. Streetwear is especially big in 2nd street and if it’s a dedicated brand it’ll be overpriced imo. There’s 3 tiers of sections in a second street: designer/hype/streetwear, premium items, and cheap clothing in the 5-10 dollar range. There’s honestly something for everyone. The thing about 2nd street selling is they do not care about condition if it’s designer. I’ve sold things with huge stains and they’ll take it but discount it so it’s a great way to get rid of your old stained designer you can’t sell. They also will take basically any clothing but price it at $1 so functionally you are giving away your clothing which could be a boon to some who don’t wanna go to an extra goodwill trip. One final thing about 2nd street is that they pay in cash (even if it’s like $500) so uhh they’re easy to rob. So the hierarchy is this: Regular clothes good condition - Buffalo Regular clothes bad condition - donation or 2nd street Streetwear - 2nd street Vintage - Buffalo Designer good condition - Wasteland Designer bad condition - 2nd street Lemme know if y’all have any questions!!

Ok this is really helpful thank you! Majority of what I've got is 2nd/3rdish tier designer stuff, mainline Paul Smith, Isabel Marant, Dunhill etc. Also have a decent amount of good/nice mall tier or slightly higher stuff that I feel like is worth a shot. Omg autocorrecting Dunhill to Dunghill
