Thoughts on this suit as a year round option?

Hello! Curious on everyone's thoughts on this suit. The picture isn't great, and please ignore the polo underneath. This is a size 40 and obviously needs to be pulled in. Here are the details: - super 150's - three piece - peak lapels, two button, double vent - ticket pocket My main question is this: any reservation about wearing this during the winter? Thank-you in advance!

Not a suit, that's just a jacket

Suits are seasonal for roughly two reasons: style and warmth. Style is in the eye of the beholder; some people want heavy tweeds in the winter and unstructured light-color linen in the summer while other people want to wear the same navy and charcoal suits every day. Most suits and jackets aren't sufficiently styled towards one extreme to be unusable in the other -- like yeah you probably wouldn't wear a thick chunky tweed in the summer because it would look odd even if you're comfortable, but most stuff is far more middle of the road than that. So the real question becomes comfort. Like above, an unstructured linen suit wears way cooler than a chunky tweed, and thus, the chunky tweed is comfortable walking outside when it's like 40F whereas the unstructured linen is good (or at least, not horrendous) for an outdoor wedding in the summer in direct sunlight when it's 85F. Right? So that jacket specifically, it does not scream summer or winter to me in style. Sure, it seems more summery to me, but I think you would have no problem wearing it in the winter, stylistically speaking.

So then the question becomes... is it comfortable in heat? Comfortable in cold? (Do you not care because you spend all your time in 65-70F HVAC indoors?)

temperature less important; overcoat/topcoat in winter with minimal exposure to elements

That's also one of the weird things, people talk about a "3 [or 4] season suiting cloth" when they go outside for no more than 30 seconds at a time ...

completely agreed

If you're not at all concerned about temperature then yeah I think it's great for summer, as far as looks go, and not bad for winter. IMO

thank-you; i am confident with it for spring/summer and was more curious on if it would look out of place in the winter

What type of events do you plan on attending? I think this suit will look out of place on any evening occasion.

Business meetings. Conferences. Social events when a suit is required. No formal events.

I'd go for something a little darker, but it will probably be fine.
