where to put my focus first?
Good evening, everyone I have 4 courses this semester and I struggle with all of them especially since I’m not a math person and I’m new to CS which course should I focus on first? Since I struggle with all. ( I don't attend Seneca I go to a different Ontario College)

well if you struggle with all of them then i guess the logical answer is that you should focus on all of them equally, but if you're just asking which first sem course i think is the hardest, for me it was IPC by a landslide
IPC>APS or Linux (depending on your strength and prof) > CPR or COM (depending on your strengths.)
Prioritize IPC no matter what. Youre better off being great at IPC and mediocre in everything else than okay with all 5
yeah, IPC extrapolates into OOP which are the most challenging courses for sem2 and 3

so was this meant to be a game/riddle where we have to guess the names of the courses
but the classes I have are HTML and CSS, programming Fundamentals, math for computer studies and intro to networking
programming fundamentals and math for computer studies sound the most challenging to me, intro to networking and html/css are probably not too bad
yeah that's true I mean they're a bit hard for me but the other two are harder

Html and css are very soft. Virtually akin to english and once you pick up other concepts they stick far easier.
Put more effort into math and fundamentals and networking.

yeah, i would argue ipc144 is the hardest first semester course in CPA/CPP

yes, but if you have no programming experience like i didn't at the time then C isn't particularly easy to learn compared to the other sem1 courses, and the workshops simply take a lot more time than any of the other coursework did for me
anyway, probably better to ask in #ipc144 since this question was resolved two weeks ago and OP doesn't even go to seneca in the first place lol

listen to your heart. you don't have to for the program though
(yes there is a class where you learn how to use the unix terminal, no you don't have to install linux on your computer for anything)
idk about linux it will take alot of time to learn
i think you'll be fine. the course in question is called ops102 now but it was uli101 when i took it, and for me personally it was one of the easier classes even though i had no experience with it either
it's more or less the same thing as using the command prompt in windows except the commands are just slightly different, if i had to sum up what you do in the course
i only have exp in c ,c++,java,html,css some leet code too
so thats why im worried
I don't have exp with js, rust, php etc
for the whole course?

You seem to be a hard worker and serious from the shit you've said. There's people who don't try hard that manage to get by. If you work hard, you'll excel.
For coop its 3.0 minimum for 5 course load, 3.2 for 4 courses.

I can only solve easy leet code and some medium ones
hard ones are too much time taking

Majority of people in the program do not even leetcode. If you try you will be sucessful. If anything I would work on the confidence. Just be consistent and work hard that's it, you will do great.
Bro relax 😆 I entered the program never having written a line of code and ended with a 4.0 gpa. You’re solving leetcode problems before starting the program - you’ll be fine. Have some confidence
