so its not the computer because tried on a dell optiplex and the same thing happened. it refuses to find NVME or m.2 drives in general.
I have NVME and SSD drives mounted
and working fine
where did you mount them to?
oh hold on I misread, this is during install?
think he told me it's an external nvme in usb enclosure
Yeah I think the fedora installer doesn't let you install to a USB drive
not much we can do about that, it's not our utility
Try the stock silverblue & kinoite installers
if those work, you can rebase to bazzite once you're set up
what kernel is it running?..just curious b/c even my alder lake, too new mobo, requires sideloading sata drivers during windows installs
6.4.15
ok, new enough π
:p
guess people are just used to running batocera off a microsd or usb stick
I've tried on a drive mounted on the motherboard and an external USB, doesn't find them on either
On my optiplex 7040 and a minisforum hm80
In cases like that I install through a VM π
anyone have any ideas on this?

if that doesn't work you're gonna have to get very creative
do those have all of the same features as bazzite though?
oh wait i think i understand, what does rebase mean though
you can "rebase" from one image to another
so after you install stock kinoite/silverblue, it's a single terminal command to switch it to bazzite
and a single command to go back
it'll just update into it
oh interesting, ill try that
π
do you happen to know the command?
it's in the readme
ok
i assume it will rebase but keep whatever distros DE i chose
nope
it's a full reabse, you can swap from gnome to KDE
but for cleanliness sake of your dotifles, pick silverblue/kinotie based on which DE you want
ah cool ill just use silverblue to keep it simple since im sticking with gnome in bazz
you got it
Yeah no joy, only finding my 2tb 2.5 ssd
So I've tried on a hp elitedesk 705 g4 and a dell optiplex 7040 and none of them will detect a nvme drive, does the drive need to be mbr or or gpt maybe? Or is there a bios setting that needs to be on/off?
