Are shadows only added to buttons and images?

Help me decide between the two and educate me a little bit more about shadows.

i wont educate you about the shadows, but the text color and placeholder color shouldnt be the same

What color do you recommend?

a darker color for example, if you use the same color you are using for the border, for the checked radio button and for the filled fields, then it will be incredibly obvious on what is and isnt filled

as for the shadows, they're inconsistent. Both designs work, the one of the left is a lot more stylized, the one on the right more simple and cleaner. It really depends on the style you're going for make the shadows consistent though, it feels messy now

if you pick that one, i would change the arrow of the select to be a bit thicker at least 2x the thickness

that's a good color dont forget the text on the select! by the way, a trick to force people to choose an option is to have the first option be like this:
<option value="" selected disabled>Timeline</option>
<option value="" selected disabled>Timeline</option>
this makes it so the first option cant be selected, and acts like a good placeholder

awesome! and now, you can style that disabled option to have the same color as the placeholders
