Bazzite Buzz #3 Draft
I think we should just link to the reason we're asking nvidia users to recreate their boxes
everything else looks a+!
Thanks Jorge. I wasn't sure if the goofy Half-Life 2 picture was going to look alright especially since I poorly edited Bazzite desktop onto the PC screen, but I feel like we have a half life theme going on here I just took a map from the E3 2003 presentation (if anyone would notice that.) Anyways, what is the reason for this exactly? I tried searching the discord and github commits, but I don't exactly know the reason why
not sure, I think it was a bug in distrobox?
sounds good enough to me
ublue/nvidia issue
It was missing 32bit libraries
And the way they're put in the distrobox they can't be added without remaking it
Looks great as usual @nickname, thank you!
no problem thanks
doing a tiny bit more description and editing right now, but probably can PR this very soon
alright i think im done, if anything else has to happen let me know
Looks good to me
A few things new to me too
It's perfect
thank you
only thing i dont know what to do right now is what to link for the 'full changelog' towards the bottom. since that's not there and i wasnt sure if these get released with the new ISOs
Hmm... Yeah. The release changelog gets generated when an ISO is made. Alternatively, there's an open PR that tracks changes for the upcoming version up to the current commit
that should work then
at least as a placeholder or something
thanks
No problem. Glad to help with this. If you ever need assistance with it, ping me
okay thank you!
yeah, the open PR would be best because that will cover everything
will get on that now
I think people need to realize all you have to do is subscribe to the open PR that they'd get notifications of everything coming into bazzite, heh.
lol yeah
I didn't want to crowd up the other channels but I'm working on 3 new blog posts if anyone cares:
- Bazzite 2.0 (same format as Bazzite 1.0, plan to release this when the "2.0" ISOs are released)
- Bazzite Buzz #7 (a little after or same day as "Bazzite 2.0" post.)
- Blog post on my experience using Bazzite on the stock 64GB Steam Deck (basically explains why most people shouldn't do this with pictures)
will have 2.0 and buzz #7 PR'd by Monday night to review, and they can be merged when 39 builds are released
Bazzite 2.0 PR: https://github.com/ublue-os/website/pull/642
Bazzite Buzz #7 PR: https://github.com/ublue-os/website/pull/643
let me know, or send feedback on github if the 2 new blog posts need something fixed
also attached the survey results, and yes there is a discussion on feedback I opened in the Bazzite forum. Whatever feedback is given here, I also edit there too. lots of nice feedback here though, and every response rated their experience with the project either a 4 or 5.
2.0 PR looks amazing! Moving on to the buzz
Buzz #7 looks terrific, did leave a couple comments. Nice work! Thank you for consistently being on top of this. As someone that's not the greatest with documentation, I really appreciate it
Thank you! I added the changes you requested too
i put a warning on the newsletter and 2.0 announcement that users may have to rebase depending on the output of
rpm-ostree status
Sounds good. Have no idea how some ended up with signed images on the 38 tag when we explicitly rebase to latest. I hope there isn't any odd behavior there or something
readme on the ublue website had :38 for a while
likely people that rebased following that
Ah, that makes sense
well
i think the installer also installed
:38
from the ISOs
idk about recent ones
but from what ive gathered thats what happenedThe ones from now on will install latest ootb
lets go!
