System won't enter Gaming Mode, and has broken HDMI Audio
Trying to use Bazzite (Deck) as software for an Intel NUC to use as an HTPC. So far, I've had a few issues.
One of the issues is HDMI audio. It's very crackly and crushed. On normal distros, this was very easily fixed by removing
speech-dispatcher
, but I don't know how to remove speech-dispatcher
on this specific OS configuration.
The other two issues seem to be somewhat connected. When I boot the system, or enter Gaming Mode via desktop shortcut, or log out of the user, it just kicks me right back to the Plasma desktop. It never boots into Gaming Mode, it never does anything other than spit me back out, inevitably, at Plasma's desktop. Steam also doesn't save login information at this point, so after every reboot, attempt to go into Gaming Mode, or otherwise, I have to re-log back into Steam. Every time.
CPU/GPU are Intel Core i3-7100U and Intel HD 620 graphics. I was fairly sure these were supported, so any help would be appreciated.5 Replies
rpm-ostree override remove speech-dispatcher
should workGiving that a shot now, and it just seems to be dependency hell

Likely the same issue
Only some Intel hardware is affected
Ah, I’ll take a look, thanks.
For the login not saving, try using the latest build, old builds seemed to have a problem with that
they left server, weird
