Fedora/bazzite installer is larger than the viewport of the steam deck

Basically title, the bottom part is cut off which means I cannot see or interact with the next/previous buttons with a mouse. Version: v1.1.0 deck 38 (KDE) Flashed with balena etcher.

Temporary workaround from user stephenz: At the grub entries selection screen where it says install Bazzite, press the e key. then go to where just before it says quiet leave a space and type
inst.resolution=1280x800
inst.resolution=1280x800
now do ctrl-x to continue boot. This will fix Anaconda scaling for the install. It's not an issue with the 1.0.1 web installer, but that has it's own issues post-install so I'd still stick with the 1.1.0 installer.

Thanks, I'll give this a go Also completely unrelated to the topic, but the release says don't dual boot with steamos or linux Does that mean windows is all good Or is there any known issues with that

I think they suggest that windows may be okay but windows can tend to break other bootloaders You'd need to leave grub enabled post install and use the windows entry on grub. So you'd leave the bazzite install at the top of your boot order

Okay so I've just Installed it Looked like it went well Got to the login screen which I used root to enter And then blank screen Grub shows 4 different Fedora Linux instances for some reason Okay so I managed to get in through the x11 Environment but as I go in I see the error cannot run as root user

In the installer I left the root account disabled and just set a password for the basic user so that you can use that for sudo in terminal So I didn't have a login screen. Idk about the blank screen after that. I think many people here on us US timezones so they may be able to advise later

did you only create a root account and not a user account?

... I might've forgot to create a user account It's okay though I think because I created one after and it seems okay ish now Is it recommend that I format my sd card and reinstall my games

If it’s formatted as btrfs already, you’re fine. If it’s ext4, I’d reformat it You can just make a local backup of the entire card and copy it back to the sd card after formatting

This doesn't seem to be working for me. I may be doing it wrong. Does anyone have a photo of what this is meant to look like?

It should be on the second line if your screen is vertical, like inst.resolution=1280x800 quiet then press control k
