Oldest item in your wardrobe - Topic of the day 9/10/23
Maybe because you've taken great care of it, perhaps it's been insanely durable, or sometimes it's just sentimental - what's the oldest article of clothing still in your wardrobe? How long have you had it? Do you still wear it? Is it an heimloom item? Is it truely, dare I say, timeless? Share some photos with the community!

Old pic but I’ve had this Rick Owens ribbed tank since I got into fashion so like 7 years, was one of my first ever higher end fashion cops
Black adidas skate graphic when I was barely starting high school. Always hated shopping with my mom and wouldn't have a real interest in clothes for a few more years, but it's actually been a great fit and slots in subtly
I bought these Nike shorts about 8 years ago and I've since used them for every kind of activity: running, gym, going out ... comfy as day 1, and never gave me a problem
Probably my high school marching band dickies jacket that qualifies as vintage now that I got in 2010. I wore it yesterday.
This tshirt I brought on the 19 October 2006. Still wear it, but not too often as it's starting to degrade and I love it.
Oldest item that was new when I got it: this T-shirt from my brother, 06 is his graduating year, the t shirt is actually from 04 or 05 I can’t remember
Actual oldest is the jacket from this fit
Which is from 1954
Oldest garment I own is probably these vintage German strichtarn cargos, date unknown and hopefully not worn by bad guys
Garment I've had the longest is my mom's hand me down Carhartt which I guess I've had since before I was born even
Yeah I was going with “had the longest”
I still wear my supreme playboy pocket tee from 2013. I got it in 2014. I’ve bought it in black and white. I miss the old blanks so much.
Oldest I still have is this Heaven Shall Burn t shirt from like 2007ish. Got some crazy fading from sitting in my parents shed for a couple years. Oldest I still wear is this Levi's type 3. Got some good fading on it!
1973 omega geneve
Actual oldest would be this Le Mont St Michel jacket which is late 40s. Honorable mention to my dad's 80s(?) UConn crew neck that I wear all the time.
These Chucks I bought in 2006.
I can't believe a pair of chucks survived that long
I'd be barefoot by now
tbf they’re like 3rd string on a deep footwear roster
True that helps a lot
I still have the suit I got married in 11 years ago, and I think it fits me once more. Been meaning to pull it out and try it on. Also have a leather jacket that's even older
I essentially overhauled my entire wardrobe in the last two years so i really dont have anything i’ve had for a super long time. Actual oldest item is probably my P-41 trousers which when into distribution in 1941. The ones I have are an early variant with patch pockets. I actually have an entire P-41 set
Fading is so sick on the tee
Strichtarn didn’t start til the 60’s so you are are good haha
Actual oldest item is this apple sweatshirt from the 80s iirc
Happy accident for sure
The 60s were the beginning of the end digs
Good ol’ minimal sneakers… a MFA favourite
These CPs are from 2013/4 I believe. I bought them new. I blame these as being the gateway drug to designer fashion since they were my first “high end” purchase
I still own them but exclusively wear them as beaters nowadays … they’ve definitely seen some shit throughout the years
I haven’t been in the fashion game for very long but I still own my first expensive purchase 5 years on.
Wings + Horns officer derby
Oldest piece of clothing is this cut out blazer from Yohji’s 1987 S/S collection
1980s shell florsheims are up there without knowing how old some of my vintage jackets and ties are. Oldest piece I personally bought is a hat that’s ~27 years old
OMG I just realized...I have a sweater my mom knitted for me in high school, so round about 1991. I still wear it sometimes.
