Tassel Loafers for casual and formal-ish fits
Hi. Back at it again with a loafer question. I have a handful of odd-suit pants and what not to wear this with. But can I dress this down to jeans (unfaded, still dark indigo pants) and shorts (corduroy shorts)
I am a wee bit clueless I apologize

Could you? Yes but that wouldn’t be my first choice. The color is one thing but for me it’s that they are a Belgian loafer tassel hybrid. With that being said, for that price you could test drive them and not be hurting if you don’t like them.
Relevant username, leisurely loafing!
I agree. You could but I'd prefer to dress down, like, brown or burgundy penny loafers.
Loafers are my thing lol
I can tell haha. I'll send you pics when I find some that fit properly ;)

What does being belgian loafer tassel hybrid entail? I have a feeling any fashion piece trying to be a hybrid if sorts is either a flop or a bop (im so sorry for my words)
These are Belgian loafers but instead of the little bow they have tassels. It’s not the worst thing I’ve see though.
ooooh i see. didn’t know there were bows and tassels were different things. thank you. im just now looking to buy loafers! looking at used carmina’s or berwick’s atm
i’ve seen vintage weejuns but idk, they dont look as clean (stitching wise on the vamp) as the brands i mentioned. oh, and am also considering jalans srijiwaya too 😵💫
What’s your budget?
150usd. altho i might stretch it to 250usd if a brand new pair is on sale
Check out Alden, Allen Edmonds, and grant stone second hand. Those are all true tassel loafers - I don’t have any recs for Belgians at that price.
thank u. never heard of grant stone
how about penny loafers? the split toe ones like these
Yeah they are nice - designed after JM weston
I tend to recommend trying loafers on in person, proper fit is really key to them.
yeah. i hope berwick stores here does a sale again. the pair i shared went as low as 24,000yen (from 36,300yen) in last year’s sale
Found a cheap pair of berwick loafers! I “ordered” em to try em on at the thrift store near me
exact model and color i wanted too, yay
Ill get tassels after getting a pair of penny’s~
what do u think? @leisurelyloafing looks like a great deal that’s hard to pass up on. 😅 not into horsebit but im building my wardrobe rn so..
Php 8000 = 140usd. according to the brannoc scale my size is US 8.5D this is perf 🥹
Nice find! I haven’t tried their bit loafers but always had an eye on them.
I’m second guessing if i should get these in black but i feel this is easier to wear with the occasional shorts
snagged a once-used pair of berwicks (perfect size and the exact dark brown pair i wanted)! seller was so kind and gave me a bigger discount
they were selling it for 23,000yen, so I (wishfully) asked if they could lower it to 21,000yen. And then they one upped me and said “for you, 20,500yen!” I piled on my 5,000yen coupon and 500yen referral gift so all in all, the pristine pair sold for 15,000yen. I also get 300yen in points afterwards, lol
Not bad for a pair that sells for 36,300yen brand new. I actually went in a berwick store today to get my size.
Tried on a bunch of used carmina’s today too and man, those were not in good condition at all and they were selling for 24,000yen. Their soles needed actual replacement work and not just sole guards
The carminas lol. A little too rough. Great looking leather tho. excuse my worn out socks. i cant believe i wore this while trying out jalans and berwicks lmao. end of long-ass ramble. im a happy camper
