Redoing Wardrobe
Ive come to the conclusion that i dress poorly and wanted a change so I've looked at a couple of the guides on the reddit and put this on and I've decided what I'm going to purchase. I have a budget of around 1400 dollars to redo my wardrobe.
2 Leather Sneakers
2 Boots (Thursdays)
1 Loafer (New Republic)
1 Boat Shoe (Sperry)
4 Jeans (Levis)
3 chinos
3 Tees (Uniqlo)
3 OCBD
2 Sweater Polos
2 Hoodies
2 Crew Neck Sweaters
3 Flannel Shirts
Anything I haven't picked out or waiting for sale for I'm not really sure what to go for or try and snipe a sale for. Some guidance would be helpful.

the general recommendation when doing your wardrobe is to do it over time, and not in one go. there are several reasons for this.
1. your preference may change over time as you start paying more attention to the way you look. this means your style may change, and some items you buy at the start may go to waste.
2. you'll be able to spread out your spending more. this means it'll be a little more comfortable on your wallet, and you might be able to afford to buy things of higher quality.
3. you won't be pressured into buying things you don't like just to fill up your wardrobe. sometimes it takes some time to find the item you want, and if you're fixated on filling holes, you'll compromise and then later wish you'd waited to get what you really wanted.
4. people who have just started still need to learn the basics, like getting the fit you want, and how to put outfits together. you might end up buying items that don't work with you if you do it all in one go.
5. if you want to develop a long term skill of dressing better, there aren't any shortcuts. you can't just use a template and be done for the rest of your life. there's no such thing as timeless.
so yeah i suggest lurking more around here, learning more about what you like and don't like, before taking the plunge and spending a lot of money in one go.
also Thursdays is owned by assholes
take it slow there are no rules good luck
In addition to what everyone said already, there’s no reason to just go and buy several copies of a thing at once, I almost never have multiples of the same thing in my wardrobe and anything where I’m like “damn I really need this in a different color” comes after a long time of wearing the thing and finding I like it and want to do more things with it
Okay thanks for the heads up and the advice
Yeah I only really buy multiples for stuff like socks, underwear and T-shirts so anyhting requiring frequent laundry
From the list it seems also like you are buying a ton of footware all at once for some reason
