I ended up going with the black turtle neck. My favorite fit by far
#1 looks too slim everywhere
#2 way too slim and jacket and trousers don't appear to match?
#3 same as #1?
#4 jacket looks the best I think because it's not buttoned which plays down the slimness, but trousers don't look good and the colors don't match?
#5 way way too slim, that button is holding on for dear life
#6 too slim everywhere
I think it would really benefit you to learn more about how tailored jackets and trousers should fit, check out the attached image for a good silhouette, look at how his jacket and trousers flatter his body without being tight or the fabric pulling
Also if you're going to wear a worsted suit like this, the jacket and trousers must match, the near-matches of dark gray jacket and darker gray trousers really doesn't work
I prefer slim tight fitting clothes. The guy in the photo has a much lower muscle mass than me. If I wear more loose clothes I look too boxy. I have the matching trousers for the jacket but I think it looks better with the contrast between the 2 colors.
Do you think a lighter grey jacket would be better with the turtle neck?
Too-slim tailored clothing isn't having the effect you think it has. The suits aren't showing off your muscles, they just look too small on you. Even if the guy in the picture is less muscular than you, he looks a lot better.
If you want contrast between your top and bottom, you need more contrast for it to look intentional, and the jackets need more casual details. These worsted business suits are not meant to be broken up
A lighter gray could work well with the turtleneck, but only if it's got some casual texture
I think you look uncomfortable in these to be honest. Suits can be slim without tight. Your muscles bulging out don’t look good for formalwear
Something like this gray tweed. Although, honestly, I'd prefer a cream or tan turtleneck than a black one here.
I hate tweeds with a passion 😭 they look like a dirty old blanket or a blanket that grandma made
The slimness of these and the mismatched trousers is really not good. Having more muscles doesn't mean you look better when you strangle yourself
Welll that just you 😂
Hmm, agree with others. My first thought was that those suits look too tight on you and uncomfortable.
never been to rooftop event much less to NYC, but I think the turtle neck choice is good! physique looking great brother. when you get the time, try slightly looser clothes. you'll fill em out really well (unlike lean plebs like me lol) and you'll look even better I think. just my 2c!
Ty i’ve noticed you are asking a lot of the same questions regarding suiting and posting the same or similar combos of suits you have and then proceed to not follow any advice given. GSH is extremely knowledgeable on tailoring and it would be wise to listen to some of the things he’s said. If you don’t agree with him, thats absolutely fine but it wont change the answers you get here.
It seems like you are really passionate about fashion which is great and i would never want to discourage you but there is some definite room for improvement here
If you don't like tweed that's OK (even if I don't agree) - there are other textured gray jackets like this hopsack https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/gray-stretch-hopsack--185b-1011-nsc-01-fw22-696 or this linen wool herringbone https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/medium-gray-herringbone--17304a3-nsc-01-ss22

Both of these would go fine with a turtleneck, and the casual details show that they're definitely sport coats, not suit jackets, and they're made to be worn with contrasting trousers
I actually have a blazer just like that second one just a little big on me but it looks so good with my turtleneck.
Anyways I ended up just wearing the turtle neck with a suit. I got a quite a few compliments on it.
The more I look at proper fitting clothes the more I start to realize the difference between tight fits and tailored fits.
Can you post a pic of the one that you say is a little big on you?
I will when I get home. This was the suit I wore today. I have a suit in the same color and brand that is one size bigger getting some alterations done
