Use EssentialX's display name for nameplate, death messages, and advancement messages.
Using the /nick command from EssentialsX it is possible to change a player's name in chat. Various options in the Essentials config allow you to use this display name in the tablist and for player join/leave messages. What does not seem to be possible is to use the display name as:
1) the player nameplate
2) in death messages
3) in advancement messages
I've scoured the web for a complete solution to this but haven't found a full one. My reading suggests that the Placeholder API plugin may hold a solution, but I'm not clear on how to set this up.
Can anyone advise?

nametag can be done with placeholderapi and tab
death messages would require a death message plugin
same with advancement
Can you elaborate on how to use Placeholder API with Tab?
So four additional plugins for this functionality? Seems like a lot of bloat, but I'm willing to do if there is no cleaner solution
well u want like 3 different things

is the placeholder for essentials displayname
Download placeholder api and run the command /papi ecloud download essentials, then /papi reload. Then you can put the placeholder DK mentioned in the tab config and run /tab-reload
