Connection refused
I know I'm dumb. I couldn't troubleshoot, I did the best I could.
So, I have a Minecraft server running. Yesterday it was working fine. Today I get a connection refused error.
I made a new test server with no plugins, still no luck. The server console doesn't log anything, so I guess it's something to do with the client side.
I have my Windows firewall disabled. The firewall on the Linux host allows incoming connections on port 25565.
The server environment is PufferPanel inside a Docker container.
Edit: I can't join through the domain nor through the internal IP of the host machine. I tried joining using Vanilla and a Fabric optimization modpack.
Sorry again if I'm just dumb and not understanding anything. Thanks!

This seems like the server is off... You do know, if you are using SSH, you need to create a screen to make it run 24/7
The server is on
I'm using a docker container to run a web panel which has the server on it
It worked fine until yesterday
im actually having a similar problem and I was about to post it, ive been running modded servers from my cloud vm on a screen just fine, but i just put in my vanilla server folder from when i used to use pebblehost to host a server, and the server is up (i can use console commands ) but i cant join
idk
thats where im at
Same exact thing
lol
yeah if the server is running its an ip issue
idk
i went into server properties and messed with port a bit but i didnt get it to work
But I'm joining through my machine's internal IP
This is my firewall on the host
server is on
lol
and on Windows client I have my firewall off
saw something on google about updating java but idk if thats it
Yeah my web panel takes care of that automatically
I can try to forward it with Cloudflare Tunnels instead of port forwarding
tcp is expensive af
like 5 gb free iirc and then a buck a gb of traffic
show server.properties
Sure
This is a test server, the server.propeties are essentially vanilla
Still doesn't let me connect
These are server logs, I also tried to connect, nothing in the console
https://mclo.gs/JmH5U1k
I tried on a different server to update Paper and still the same
No plugins
Is the Linux machine on your local network
Of course it is
I also tried to join through the domain I have set up
and through the external IP
can u ping it
Yes
I can access the web panel
And I can ping it
what allocation have u given it on panel
your public ip or?
0.0.0.0
is it wrong?
I know a bit about networking and my fair share of Linux, but since there are no logs anywhere I don't know where to go
and ur using ip:25583 to join currently right?
nah ill try it
ur server is currently running on port 25583 which is why im asking
nah
same thing
and port is open?
should be
are u on linux
i was connecting to modded servers just fine a few days ago
the vm is linux
hosted on the oracle free cloud server
was it on the same port?
idk
i used the default settings when hosting modded
that would be 25565
ur using 25583
i can open my old modded servers folder
set port in server.properties to 25565
yeah i jut pasted the settings from pebblehost
i changed it earlier but there are like 3
do i change them all
?
rcon port, query port, server port
no just server
when i look at my modded servers properties, there is no rcon or query port
if i changed mine would it cause problems
dont touch em they arent neccesary to be touched
i touched em earlier
i touched the rcon]
because i didnt see the other 2 and i thought my port was wrong
i am on the server now but id wanna fix it
it wont do anything
ok
rcon should be disabled anyways
99% of cases its useless
aight
nice
ty
other guy may have same problem
maybe he was changing wrong port settings
connection refused is usually firewall or wrong ports
i aint a fan of pufferpanel tho its kinda abandonded imo
lol
nope
v3 is in dev
ig
pterodactyl is still better in everyway basically except ease of installation
server:
- port opened on router
- port allowed in ufw
client:
- firewall disabled
woked until yesterday
could u try and launch it outside docker
yup
installing it
making the server
k its starting
YESS IT WORKS
I FOUND THE ISSUE
THANK YOU SO MUCH @ProGamingDK
