for information i am running the nvidia version of bazzlite
on my leigon 5
hmm another issue when steam should use native filepicker
systemctl restart --user xdg-desktop-portal
can you run this on terminal?
trying now
file picker opens fine i select the directory path to my external drive but still dosent add
now*
drive is running ext4
ah managed to get drive to add by clicking steam libary folder instead of external thanks!
fixed my problem
❤️
Note do have to run this command every reboot
hmm
so xdg-portal is not started properly every reboot
if you want hacky solution
make a script for restarting xdg-portal with kde autologin feature
I can confirm this affects my nvidia-bazzite install too 🤔 This is helpful context
Can anyone post their logs from xdg-desktop-portal? Might explain what's going on here
I'm looking around for this - I've checked systemctl and not finding an xdg-desktop-portal-kde or just xdg-desktop-portal 🤔 Its clearly installed based on the rpm
is there something else / somewhere else I should be looking?
journalctl -u xdg-desktop-portal
iircI did try that first off with no joy
when I didn't see a
.service
file for the portal, i was already sus by the no entries message. I'm presently on my AMD rig looking into this from the latest nightly build of the bazzite image stream.
Ok - sorry Kyle it took me a minute but it's in the user namespace 🤦♂️ as indicated by the systemctl restart above
ty!
that's interesting
 I'm not sure if that's specific to me because i initially installed bazzite-deck and rebased to vanilla bazite, but let me run up to my wifes gaming pc (the nvidia-bazzite flavor) and see if she's got the same error in the log
confirmed, i have a log showing this dating back since the install of the node
Looks like that's the crux of it
@EyeCantCU @bsherman Finally have a log of that XDG issue
wait, so this is now clearly not nvidia specific, right?
or am i misunderstanding lazypower's comments?
I just had the same issue and I'm on amd gpu.
For me, it just happens on Wayland. On X11 I can see my directories just fine.
Correct I saw it in both nvidia as well as amd
plot thickens
I use AMD. I had this happen
