Smoke smell persisting after dry cleaning my YSL silk tie

I thrifted an Yves Saint Laurent silk tie and had it dry cleaned, but it still smells more or less the same? What else can I do to get the smell out?

Air it out for a week or two?

Yeah I think I will try that when I move. My flat doesn't have openable windows at the moment 😭

Soak / spray with white Vinegar and leave it out in the sun. The sun will evaporate the vinegar which will lift the odor with it. After that do one more normal wash Note - this works extremely well for denim, cottons, and linens. I have not tried it on something 100% silk. YMMV

Don't wash ties, though. They will often have an interlining of a different material that will shrink differentially and potentially ruin them
