Advice for first time casual sneaker purchase

First time buying a sneaker for casual usage so thinking a lot about it If wearing black jeans with beige/grey shirts often Which of these would look better? (adidas ultraboost, NB 880v12, NB 1080v12, NB 1080v12 copper) Thinking to get one of them based on comfort and durability

please suggest alternatives as well based on the comfort and durability conditions if necessary (under 120$, I live in India if that matters) note: I plan to use them to office and maybe dates as well, so don't want suggestions to stand out too much or be too flashy

I would definitely suggest looking at the suede-upper New Balances instead of these ones, try the 574 or 990 range and see if you like any of those. They will be much more suited to office casual wear (and dates) than these examples, which are really just athletic shoes. or Adidas zx500's in a similar vein instead of the ultraboosts

so I looked these up, 574s are available online but 990 and zx500 are not 574 also cost about 20$ less than 880v12 the reason I was thinking of the ones in my post is because if I have to walk a lot and/or keep wearing them for 8-10 hours, I was worried if the cushioning in regular sneakers would be enough

574 would be your best option then 🙂 Yes I can vouch they will be just as comfortable as the athletic shoes, and the uppers will most likely last longer than the knit running shoes as well!

990 look really amazing, man I wish new balance sold those in my country will check around on 574 for now are they kinda grippy on wet surfaces/uneven surfaces btw? only complaint I heard about 880/1080 was their grip on wet surfaces

The 574 have more 'tread' on the soles than the 880 so I would say they'd be better on wet surfaces ya You could try eBay and stuff? You should be able to find new ones on there if 2nd-hand isn't your thing

Ah that sucks. But yeah I think 574s are a good option in general then!

coming to the fashion advice, any specific color scheme you recommend on shoes that look good but don't stand out too much? if wearing black jeans with beige/grey shirts often

Tbh that just comes down to personal preference, there's not really any 'best' one! The grey ones are a classic. You might like the black ones if you wear mostly black/monochrome

Something like this would be very versatile

thanks, this does look good I was also considering buying a trail shoe for hikes/rainy weather - would this look decent for casual usage as well?

along with the 574 same color scheme on clothing as before

They are cool! I wouldn't consider them for casual usage in terms of office casual or trying to look smart, but they would go well in a techwear / gorp-core kind of look (some inspo albums here: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/hr0lba/a_guide_to_gorpcore/), so you can make them look good in casual settings if you lean into that outdoor vibe!

I didn't know that was a thing, thanks for the reference and advice!

Absolutely, they don’t blend well with an office environment/jeans/casual wear and work a little stronger with aesthetics like gorpcore for sure. Trail shoes are hardy, great to have at least 1 if you like to hike.
