Solovair vs DMs sizing
I’m looking to get some Solovair boots (pictured) but unsure on the sizing, the website says go down half a size but wondered if people find this accurate. Tried on some DMs today as they’re easier to find in person just to make sure I like the style and I was right in between a 8 and 9 (for context I’m usually a 9) but from research it doesn’t seem like they match up size wise anyway. Any recommendations and tips/advice?

I don't have any DM's but I have the same solovairs. I wear a UK size 11 in nike & vans and got the same size in my Solovairs
They fit fine with thick hiking type socks but I could probably have sized down to 10.5

Yeah I’m probably gonna go with an 8.5 and if that doesn’t work then they do a 30 day return policy so it’s not awful if they don’t fit
Cool, I don't know about break in on Docs but there was a small break in period on the Solovairs. They had a tendency to rub/blister the outside of my ankles under the ankle bone
Putting plasters over that area stopped the rubbing entirely though, I'm fairly sure it's just where the heel cup stops and it transitions to just the leather above
Thanks for the tip, I’ve got some really nice thick wool socks so thinking I’ll break them in in winter when my feet won’t boil lol
And yeah that’s another reason Solovairs appealed to me more, don’t wanna have to go through the agony if I don’t have to
