DNS IP Problem
Hello. I am using GoDaddy and my 2nd laptop to host a local server for me and my friends. I have 2 problems I can't solve
- GoDaddy changed their UI and removed all of the services I added and I'm not sure how to set up the Minecraft Java part.
- I also don't know how to automate my PC updating my IP to the godaddy website since I have to check my ip manually every time and put it into the DNS website when it changes.
I know how to setup a normal server with number ips and port forted it correctly already. I'm just having a hard time with DNS stuff.

I’m sorry if I’m still in the wrong channel
you should contact godaddy support for your issue with dns setup, but as for your ip, you can either call your isp and ask for a static ip (one that doesnt change) or use a service like noip that detects changes for you.
im doing that right now I've setup my IP but do you know how to redirect my server's IP into the noip one? none of these turotials make sense to me and they're really old
noip will give you a hostname like example.ddns.net, your can share that domain or set your own (ie example.com) domain's cname record to example.ddns.net
okay I made my noip
but im not sure waht to put in the Cname record
for name can I put anything like "redirect to noip"
and for value do I put arashserver.ddns.net?
im sorry im a bit stupid
i hope i did this correctly
set value to arashserver.ddns.net and name to the subdomain you want to use (ie mc for mc.example.com) i dont know for sure but you can use @ in the name to not use a subdomain and just use example.com
I did that. The noIP ip is currently working since I tested it on a friends side, however the redirect isnt working
what is the domain you are using, i'll take a look at the dns records, also noip might have disabled this feature behind a paywall
mc.arashyt.ca
here is all of my records
if the feature works without a paywall you need to disable the A and srv record
okay I deleted the mc and srv record
i will wait like 600 seconds now
to see if it updates
is your friend trying the noipredirect url or the one with no subdomain
the need to use redirecttonoip.arashyt.ca
OH
wait
so if i renamed that
to MC
ok
would that make mc.arashyt.ca work?
instead of redirecttonoip
it should
let me try
sorry for botheirng you so much with this
if it doesnt work you probably need to pay to use a custom domain on noip
or ask your isp for a static ip
port checker says its open
@Arash ^
IT WORKS

Do mind ur ip is leaked now if ur using ur public ip as A record
Noip doesn't hide ur ip
But if it's for friends only doesn't really matter ig
its only for friends
because I didnt want them to type a new IP every time my routers IP changes
and i already had a domain
