"no bootable device" after creating disk image with clonezilla (debian 12)
Hello :), i made a debian 12 home webserver from my old laptop so i can use it as a work environment. everything worked as i wanted, so i decided to make an image of my system as a backup. i used clonezilla for the image but now my system doesnt want to boot. it says no bootable device. i noticed that my system drive is in the legacy tab and not the uefi tab. i tried debian 12 rescue mode but i dont really understand it. does anyone have some tips how i can fix this by chance?

It's weird that Clonezilla altered the source diskβ¦
This is my rescue screen for Ubuntu. Do you have a reinstall grub option like this? That'd be where I start.
If that doesn't fix it, I'd likely run https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair which has pretty much always worked for me.
hello! thanks for the reply :). im in the debian 12 live cd rescue mode. i tried installing grub before as well and i got an error something about installation media? that dissappeared. now i redirects me to partitioning. i dont want to change any partitions since that would wipe the changed partitions, but if i just continue i get the error "no root system is defined" π
i will try the boot-repair you sent, thank you!
maaaaate youre so amazing. truly made my day. i spend two whole days trying to fix it. the boot repair thing worked! its fixed :). was about to start from scratch again lol. thank you so much :)
