Is there a way to check when a new entry is added to a table, like polling or something more efficient and less expensive?

This will be possible in a more "integrated" way once we have Triggers available (https://feedback.xata.io/feature-requests/p/webhooks-and-triggers), which we will at some point.
At the moment you would need a periodic task to query for records based on the xata.createdAt column, with now minus interval, as a lookup for new records that were created (or updated) in that interval.
