Please check your server log for errors from your plugins.
If you need further help understanding the errors, please send us the whole log file.
Where can I find the server log?
Logs are stored in
<server_directory>/logs/
. Search for a file explorer in your server's management interface and navigate to that directory. Once you've opened that up, search for the latest.log
file. Some providers have a separate page for logs and may hide the "logs" folder.
On Aternos:
• Go to https://aternos.org/log/.
On Minehut and server.pro:
• Go to the "files" tab in the left menu.
• Navigate to the root directory of your server.
• From there navigate to /logs/latest.log
.
What should I do with the log?
• First of all, read it! I mean, that's what you do all the time when you run a server, isn't it? Try to locate any errors that have anything to do with the issue you are facing.
• If you got the latest.log
file or created a .txt
file with the necessary errors you can upload these directly to the channel, but we prefer if you upload them to https://mclo.gs/.
• If you have trouble downloading the log file, copy/paste the text to a paste service (like mclogs). Copy the link that it gives you and send it to us. (Don't worry, McLogs hides your users' IPs.)Admincraft Canned Responses
get client and server logs

sorry forgetting keyboard on other pc
Please use a paste service instead!
Paste services are more mobile friendly and easier to read than just posting a log file

crap
When does it say old?
upon pinging the server
It’s normal for Forge server to say old during bootup
All the mods/libraries haven’t been loaded yet so it’ll say old when u ping the server
After the server is fully started (you see the “Done” line in the console)
It should no longer say old
oh
This is normal for every Forge server
i'm just a moron lol
i start now and check back in liek 10-15 minutes and see
, u can test this by booting the server and pinging it during bootup
And no ur not a moron, just didn’t kno, and now u kno
I thought it was done starting up due to the ram usage going to a consistent level and spawn loading in at 95%
yeah you will see a console line that says “Done (5.244s) for help type ?” Or something like that
You can also test to see if it’s done by typing /list, if it replies instantly it’s done,
Some mods have some tasks that are ran after the server is finished booted up, so the done line wont be the last line
ah
ok
yeah this is what it looks like
(95% is the last line before command)
Yeah that’s still booting up
Is it stuck at 95%?
seems to be
Er. What did you start to see that?
that’s the vanilla gui
just didnt put -nogui
^
--nogui my good sir
What's your full startup command you used?
REM Forge requires a configured set of both JVM and program arguments.
REM Add custom JVM arguments to the user_jvm_args.txt
REM Add custom program arguments {such as nogui} to this file in the next line before the %* or
REM pass them to this script directly
java @user_jvm_args.txt @libraries/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.18.2-40.2.10/win_args.txt %*
pause
and the only thing in the file it relates to is -Xms24G
That's far too much for one minecraft server.
Is that the ONLY thing in the user_jvm_args.txt file?
no everything else is comments
Can u share the file?
And the full latest.log please
mclo.gs - Paste, share & analyse your Minecraft logs
Easily paste your Minecraft logs to share and analyse them.
Also what’s the error right above this, looks like u mite have a corrupted world if it’s getting stuck at this
its a new world
so idrc
Yeah u only have an Xms, not xmx
oh
whats the difference
I’d recommend checking flags.sh
it tells u what the difference is
In the comments
oh
i suck
And 24gb is too much
at skimming, i should probably stop doing that
it’ll actually hurt performance
true that
16gb is usually the cap
aight
There’s like very small niche situations where you should be going to 24gb
you only really need 4 gigs at most if you only gonna get a few players up and playing maybe 8 gigs & above if you use heavily modded
Well no, I’d go to atleast 12 for a forge modded server
This is the best advice.
delete world
fix startup file
and see
Yeah
Send the entire latest.log like I asked pls
sorry mb
.
sorry i disappeared my brother walked in
Can onedrive interfere with my server>
YES
Move your server away from a one drive backed up location
Throw it straight into the C drive for example
true that
thank you
I usually do c:/gameserver/minecraft/<serverfiles>
