shoes for these *very* large pants?
Looking for advice on shoes to pair with these pants. They are very big... second pic shows them untied and splayed out for reference. To me, they read something like yohji hakama-styled pants, so derbies or boots seem sensible. My current derbies with these make my feet look tiny, though. & not quite sure where to look for something with chunkier shape. Suggestions?

actually, i should mention that they look surprisingly okay barefoot... so i am mostly looking for something for the colder seasons
tabis would be sick here
Do you have a pic of the pants w your current derbies? Sometimes making your feet look tiny intentionally is a vibe
honestly any shoe is going to look small compared to these pants.
would look at some waywt pics for inspiration. if you type:
"from: delajoel in: #waywt has: image"
into the search bar, they play with similar silhouettes
A slim profile flat mule would be lovely with this!
excuse all the untied string. w shoes:
i’ve seen joel around, love their vibe forsure; i’ll make sure to look over their fits again. as for flat mules… where could i find something like that?
Guidi esque
These shoes look so sick with them! I don't have any specific brand recs unfortunately, I just keep getting random ones secondhand
since your existing shoes are already fairly slim in profile, you could also go the other direction and get something chunkier. Sneakers (Hoka Tors, New Balance 992s) and chunkier boots (Our Legacy Camions, the stuff Roa makes) are good choices
I may be super off base, but what about some Mary Janes
Strong CdG vibes that route
That’s precisely what I was thinking. Been considering some myself for wear with trousers and/or suits tbh
can be a little tricky with how they gather at the bottom in a balloon shape, hakama are open and flowy which does make a diff in terms of footwear
if you want to go big, i would probably wear something like my new rocks here, something really chunky, or my pl2s, slim shafted but bulbous. but generally i think its OK to go with slim shoes that make your feet look small, assuming your top half is properly balanced
mary janes would work, or ballet flats
examples of slim shoe workin with bigger sillouette
Chunky clogs
yeah, i love these; auttaa room shoes in particular have been in the back of my mind for a while now. not quite confident enough to order without trying them on, though
the mary janes suggestion is also fascinating... good suggestions overall, thanks everyone. i'll be contemplating these ideas for a while
🙂 yeah that is fair, ive thought about them too but also had similar reservations. another obvious one we didnt mention here are just.. Doc Martens haha
very common pairing with yy like stuff whether derbies/mary jane/boot
sole tends to work well
good point! also probably easier to find in stores for a try-on, haha
i got a super cute collab pair
but i tried them on in store because they hae the same footbed as the mary janes
Solomon's like the MM6 collab would also be good
