Tips so people can connect from other countries
I just switched my server to a new provider. It was hosted in Virginia and it is now hosted in Georgia, US. Now a player from South Africa who used to be able to join is now no longer able to. He is on wifi and gets 104 down, so I think his speeds are good. What tips can I give him so that he may continue to connect to the server? It just keeps timing him out.

Well his internet speeds aren’t really the issue here, it’s more so distance and routing. Nothing you really can do at this point other than placement. The best plan of action is to either find a host in the middle of ur server population, or have the players far from the server use a VPN that might have better routing than what he natively has
Thank you I tried suggesting a vpn but it didn’t seem like he wanted to go for it. Vpn set to NA worked for another player from the Philippines
This seems like a good resource even for me I have shit internet lol
If moving the host isn’t an option… an if he’s refusing to try and solve the issue it’s kind of out of your hands
Yeah unfortunately I can’t move the host as my new host isn’t a business it’s a private individual and being that most of are players are EST this seems like the ideal place for it. As for why he won’t use a vpn your guess is as good as mine but I figured this would be a good question to ask in general as I have a lot of foreign players
VPNs are the easiest solution for the foreign players
That won’t fix the issue, but they will atleast make it playable
