Anyone know which courses this description on the CPP program website is refering to?
I was looking at the CPP program website and noticed this paragraph about how there is a variety of courses that relate to open source development. I know OSD600 and OSD700 are related to open source development but is there any other courses? or is it just those two courses? Also I'm curious if there is any networking events with Mozilla or Redhat or is Seneca's connection with them just purely through courses?

i believe it’s only osd600 and osd700 for open source development.
they do actually
yeah, they would only have to take osd600 since osd700 requires another semester
Dave, who runs the OSD courses used to work at Mozilla
Didn’t realize Seneca advertises it lol
yep
hes the only one that runs the course
uhh depends on the year I think
it ranges from 20+ to 5 ish
capacity is like any other class
the number of people enrolled varies quite a bit
yea it just happened 8 people enrolled. Not because only 8 people can enroll
lol
its.... also a not easy course
dave really pushes you
its not a course where you can scrape by...
lmao that... might not be the best idea in the world...
ccp is also kinda diffcult
ran by dave too
its... different than OOP
you are writing an actual application, using aws services on the cloud
a full stack app
lol
its pretty heavy. Week to week
good luck

im also gonna take ccp with probably map526 (if its offered) and web524(?)
Or just... pick one or the other....
if you're gonna be on co-op, taking ccp would be better
since osd requires a lot of group work from what i've heard
If I’m graduating in the fall which one is better CCP555 or OSD600 ?
They are both really good courses
Will i survive if my final semester is made up of OSD600,CCP555, DSA456 and PMC?
lmfao
def no
I did CCP and DSA 5 the pro option in one semester. It was not fun....
yeah thats the down side lol
cathy is the defacto really good prof for dsa
awwww
mmm
its... different
It's not, I did all the labs in 2 sittings. It's chill, you can do the assignments and labs in advance and focus on other classes
is it like the web assignments where you just follow what it tells you to do?
Difficulty is subjective
Yeah you are given a repository with all the labs and assignments. You can grind em all on your own pace.
oooh, sounds fun
the good thing about that course is there's no tests
and its all asynchronous
I barely look at my other classes, with all my time dedicated to prj666 like a full time job 😩
you can thank clint for that 😔
You'll be fine. People tend to exaggerate. Bear in mind right now I'm taking CCP, PRJ666, CVI and one other course I don't remember
UNIX something
And it's more than manageable, if it wasn't for prj I would be bored out of my mind having nothing to do
they probably said that because of the project
specifically ms3
i started it a little while after it was released
lets just say it wasnt a fun 2 weeks, especially with the syd final
