Medieval faction Plugin
Hi,
I created a faction and it shows the name as a prefix, but it does not show my role. How do I turn this on? I check config but no option there.

If you downloaded any .jar from the following sites, CONSIDER YOUR SERVER TAINTED
While you may run into backdoored plugins on SpigotMC and the like, it's chance is low as they're vetted regularly.
On the other hand, these 'leak' sites are known to host pirated and usually backdoored versions of paid plugins:
- BlackSpigot
- DirectLeaks
- NulledForums
- LeakMania
- ETX
- and possibly any other site besides SpigotMC/PaperMC/MCM/the plugin creator's github releases or CI server
If you downloaded any .jar files from these, consider all the .jar files in your current server directory TAINTED.
Do take note of your currently used plugins. Do REMOVE all plugin .jars AND the server.jar, and re-download them from a legitimate source.
Also consider disabling OP altogether in LuckPerms if you don't use it (you shouldn't anyways), although it won't necessarily stop such plugins from doing their harm.

thats why we recommend u to use docker when hosting mc servers
and not download from sketchy/fake copy sites

i have that one which is 5.2.0 i checked my downloads folder and my server and it has that jar file, and not the version from the fake site
jesus i just dodged a bullet
i'm still gonna run an antivirus just in case

no plugin does that by default and would probably require something custom
the feature ur talking about is when people talk in factions chat
Yes it does, another server had it,
as you can see North is the faction, and Lord is their role

could it be essentials? because on the other server it updated from the role Wanderer to Commoner eventually
use lpc imo

they literally added every essentials addon (not needed at all), multiple claiming plugins and Clearlag (not useful)

use LPC for chat
lockettex, lands, medival factions all deal with claiming (which isnt good)

i didn't, that plugin list is from another server which i left because the owner was awful and now i understand where the lag came from with so many of the same plugins lmao

their hardware on some of their nodes is less than stellar
remove essentialsx chat and use LPC
remove clearlag

Don't use Mob Stacking/Clear Lag plugins
Let's say IRL you are tasked with keeping 50 trees (pretend these are your entities in game) in your yard, but some asshat (clearlagg) comes around every 5 minutes and chops them all down. It's your job to make sure there's always 50 trees planted at a MINIMUM. So you have to go plant more. Then Mr. Asshat comes along 5 minutes later and chops them down again (rinse and repeat).
Same could be said about any mob stacking plugins. imagine you have to keep 50 trees in your land, but some asshat (mob stacker) deletes 49 of them and puts a sign on that 1 remaining tree that says ""x50"". There's really only 1 tree there, and you still have to keep a MINIMUM of 50, so you plant 49 more.

Will LPC be able to update a player's role prefix overtime? Like if they join for the first time they will get the role "Wanderer" and if they've played for like 7 days it'll change to commoner?
well that requires seperate plugins
or if the faction owner promotes them
then yes it will update
I could've sworn i heard the owner say it was automatic, hmm i'll keep looking then
