Clouflare proxy breaks bedrock connection
Hey, so I am running a geyser server on my desktop. I'm only playing with a few friends, but I imported my DNS settings to cloudflare so I could proxy my public IP address. When I play on java this is fine, however on Berock you cannot connect if the proxy is on. If i turn it off it works, but right when I turn on the proxy the bedrock users are unable to connect. Does anyone know of any cloudflare settings I should use? I'm just using the free option.

I’ve been having a similar issue. are you using UDP for the bedrock specific srv?
I didn't add a SRV record for bedrock because you add the port separately when adding a server on the client. But maybe I should try it?
you definitely need an SRV record
you should have one for both your Java port and bedrock, which should be 19132
ah yes that solved the problem. I'm curious to why you need an SRV record for it when in bedrock edition you add the port in a separate field?
if you mean the actual bedrock connect GUI, it still appends the IP and port like Java.
it’s just a matter of making it a bit easier I suppose? not sure
both Java / bedrock ips still look like 192.168.1.1:25565 and 192.168.1.1:19132
Very interesting. Well thank you for the help!
Update: It's still not working. I guess when I turned on the proxy it just took a second for my minecraft to realize I had turned it on. So still on square 1.
Although, I'm looking at my virtual machine where my server is, and when I try to connect to the world, there is a spike of activity on my network adapter. It's just not able to find my server?
What proxy option from cloudflare are we talking
If it's the one right beside the dns entry it won't work that is meant for web traffic
srv doesnt work for bedrock
hmm really? i read somewhere that you’d need to setup UDP srv
could be part of my issue
"Please note that the port is still required when using a subdomain as Minecraft: Bedrock Edition does not currently support the use of SRV records"
im so dumb yeah, you’re exactly right
